The specimen above was found on washing the brown algae Saw Wrack, Fucus serratus, that occurred on rocks below the low tide mark. A bryozoan of the genus Amathia which was found on the algae may be an associate of the amphipod species here. The specimen was found in front of Ashtorre Rock, Saltash, Cornwall, 23.11.21.
Stenothoid amphipods are known to form commensal relationships with numerous groups, including anemones, hydroids, crabs and lobsters.
