Due to recent changes in taxonomy and the introduction of the AGP II System many families have been re-classified and appear in other orders; such as with the Asparagales. If you cannot find a species you are looking for on this page try looking for it on the Asparagales page of this website.

In other words if a plant species is commonly called a 'Lily' it may not scientifically belong to the lily family, the liliaceae. The word 'lily' is very losely applied.
