The fern featured here is Asplenium trichomanes subspecies quadrivalens.
The species is widely found in walls and brickwork across Devon and Cornwall. In Cornwall it can be found in a natural state in cracks of granite on Brown Willy, and rarely with with the Beech Fern, Phegopteris connectilis.
