This creel was interesting as it was the first creel where there were numerous specimens of the bryozoan Omalosecosa ramulosa attached to the bryozoan Cellaria. The creel above was found at Newlyn Marina, Newlyn, Cornwall, 15.08.17.

The crab pot above was picked over to gain specimens / samples, but the pot was also bashed over a fish box to collect any loose debris, the debris being looked at under a microscope. On looking through the debris a number of species of small animals with calcified shells called Hole bearers or forams were found (foraminifera). The pot was found at Newlyn Marina, Newlyn, Cornwall, 23.08.15.

people find and identify it. Sometimes the difference between species is obvious but many species can only be determined by observing microscopic characteristics that are specific to any one species.
