In Williamson Spirilina has one 'L' and not two as reported in " A Monograph of the Foraminifera of the North Pacific Ocean, Parts 5-6 by Joseph Augustine Cushman".
The species original name was Orbis foliaceus Philippi, 1844, synonymised names include
Cornuspiroides foliacea (Philippi, 1844), Cornuspiroides foliaceus (Philippi, 1844) and Cyclogyra foliacea (Philippi, 1844).
