A large male of 44mm carapace width was found dead and decaying inside an old lobster creel that had at some point been caught in a trawl and brought back to shore. Specimen found at Newlyn Marina, Newlyn, Cornwall. 21.11.20.
This species is found at depths beyond 80m (R.W. Ingle, Synopses of the British Fauna Shallow-water Crabs) and to ca 2800 m (Guerao & Abelló, 1999), from Marlin.
