The parasite Sphaeronella danica? was found in the marsupium (egg pouch) of female specimens of the corophiid amphipod Monocorophium acherusicum. collected from the pontoon at Saltash Green, Saltash, Cornwall, 14.10.22.
The sample containing the amphipods consisted of scrapings from the submerged outer section of a car tyre being used as a fender on the pontoon mentioned above. The hydroid Ectopleura larynx formed the largest part of the sample, along with other smaller hydroids and a few non-native and native tunicates / sea squirts.
