Species was discovered during a dissection class at Tremough College, Penryn, Cornwall, by Sally Luker, who presented it to the author for identification. 11.02.20.

A number of specimens of this species were found on the gills of Red Gurnard, Chelidonichthys cuculus, during the mentioned dissection, the species is best known from other members of the gurnard family, the triglidae. The specimen photographed was dead, having been preserved in ethanol for two weeks prior to photography and identification.
