This species was discovered in an image of the host years after the original image was taken. It is thought the species is Anchistrotos zeugopteri, which is usually found on the fins and head area of the Common Topknot. The host was originally found under a rock in a pool on the lowershore at Spit Point, Par, St. Austell, Cornwall. 10.05.09.
This species has also been known as - Bomolochus zeugopteri and Taeniacanthus zeugopteri.
It is hoped that this species will be found again and more detailed images will be taken of the parasite.
