The octopus pot was found and retrieved by Tracey Williams on the north coast of Cornwall at Perran Sands, 13.11.16. Embryos were looked at under a microscope and were found to be Sepiola atlantica. Identification based on the appearance of 5mm juveniles, as featured above. After identifying the egg laying species the octopot was placed in a secure spot under a ledge on the lowershore so the eggs could continue deleoping.
