The specimen above was accidentally discovered in a sediment sample taken from the shallow subtidal on an exceptionally low tide at Western Cressars, Penzance, Cornwall, 28.04.21; it is therefore best classes as driftweed, but is very likely to be of local origin.
Species here was originally confirmed by Vivian Husa of the Norwegian Seaweeds Network.
