Specimen above was purchased as a reference specimen, the species is a non-native species in the United Kingdom and Ireland. This particular example was collected by A. Balconi at Lido de Jesolo, Venice, Italy, 25.02.94.
This species is also a rafting species and may arrive in the UK on flotsam from the Gulf of Mexico and the SE coast of the United States of America. e.g. on discarded fishing gear.
