There are two things to understand when viewing this site. The first is how to adjust the size of the website in the browser window, so that all the content can be seen and read. The second is with how the site has been designed in terms of navigation. Both these subjects are dealt with here.
INCREASING or DECREASING SIZE
Because of content limitations, APHOTOMARINE has been designed at a resolution of 1280 x 1024. If the website appears too large for your internet browser; e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox or Google Chrome etc., try one of the following solutions.
1. Shrink the site using shortcut key strokes; by pressing Ctr and - (minus) on the keyboard. Similarly, the site can be enlarged by pressing the Ctrl and + (plus) keys. If you need to, try it now. Do this until you can see the grey border that surrounds the main content.
2. The same can be achieved using browser settings.
If using Internet Explorer 8 go to the Menu Bar and click VIEW; then go down to ZOOM and decrease the percentage shown; e.g. to 75%. This can easily be reset after you have finished browsing the site. 100% is usually standard. If using Firefox go to the Menu Bar and click VIEW; then go to ZOOM and click ZOOM OUT; similarly you can ZOOM IN.
The 1280 x 1024 resolution has been adopted in order to display images and information at a reasonable size and so that the images can be used for education purposed.
